Dunn Co Safety LLC provides a range of courses approved by OSHA and NYC Buildings to meet the ever-changing requirements of our industry. Ongoing classes are taught at our company’s Long Island City location, or we can conduct a private class at the site of your choosing. We offer safety training in English, Spanish, Polish Russian, Urdu, and Chinese, and we are well-known for our personalized service and big discounts!
OSHA Outreach Training
OSHA Courses
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration sets federal safety standards for industry employers and employees to follow. New York City local law requires all public work projects of at least $250,000 and their laborers, mechanics, and supervisors working on the site, be certified as having successfully completed the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health Course. Dunn Co Safety trainers are OSHA Construction Outreach Safety Trainers who can provide the OSHA 10 HR as well as the OSHA 30 HR training. According to OSHA, workers and mechanics working on the job site should have successfully completed the OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety and Health Course.10 Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training:
New York State and many other states require this training for all laborers working on public projects. This training provides students with a basic overview and awareness of construction safety. Trainer will discuss subjects such as introduction to OSHA, Electrical safety, Fall Protection, Scaffolds, Stairs/Ladders and many other topics using visual aids, power point presentation, and hands on training with real equipment and materials. This training can be done at your location for an additional fee (minimum of 15 students) provided it is within the New York City area. We offer big discounts for group classes and returning clients!
30 Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training:
Under most state regulation, this training is required for those in a supervisory role, or any competent person designated by the employer on the job site, who knows the right standards and have the authority to take appropriate action.
HAZWOPER Courses:
Dunn co also offers the 40 Hour and 24 Hour HAZWOPER course and 8 hour HAZWOPER refresher, in accordance with Title 29 CFR 1910.120 (E) (3).Site Safety Manager Training
40 Hour Site Safety Manager:
This course is one of the prerequisites an applicant must successfully complete before being eligible to apply for Site Safety Manager Certificate Examination. This course also fulfills the training course requirements for Site Safety Coordinator and Construction Superintendent Certification in New York City. Our knowledgeable instructors will walk you through the entire process of applying as a Site Safety Manager, Construction Superintendent, or Site Safety Coordinator from how to prepare your paperwork to how to prepare for the actual exam (SSM Exam only).
8 Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher:
The 8 Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher Training is a program which allows you to complete the 8 hours of continuing education required every 3 years to renew your license with the Department of Buildings. This course is a renewal requirement for the holder of a NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager and Site Safety Coordinator. This course is also a registration requirement for Construction Superintendents. Please call to schedule an appointment.

Supported Scaffold Training
4 hour Supported Scaffold User & Refresher:
Under New York City Local Law 52 – Anyone who uses a supported scaffold to perform his/her job tasks regardless of the height must complete a 4 hour user course. In this course, students will be informed of Local Law 52 and what it means for employers and workers working on a scaffold in New York City. Basic safety topics related to supported scaffold will be covered, including fall hazard, the proper use of fall protection, falling object hazard, electrical hazard, proper inspection and equipment use on a scaffold. Once course is completed, worker will receive a card certifying the completion of this course, this card also contains a photograph of the worker. Workers must keep this card on them while working on a supported scaffold in New York City, and are subject to random inspections by NYC Buildings Inspectors. This course can be brought to your facility/location.
32 Hour Supported Scaffold Installer & Remover:
Under New York City Local Law 52, no individual may erect, dismantle, repair, maintain or modify a supported scaffold that is 40 feet or more in height, or knowingly permit or cause an individual to do so without a 32 hour supported scaffold Installer & Remover certification. This means if you build, mount, dismantle, or even moving planks on a supported scaffold, you will need this 32 Hour supported scaffold erector certificate. Please call to schedule an appointment.

Suspended Scaffold Training
16 Hour Suspended Scaffold User Training:
Under NYC Rigging Rule 9: All workers who use suspended scaffolds to perform his/her job tasks shall complete a minimum of 16 hours of training. Not to be confused with supported scaffolds, the suspended scaffold is a scaffold that is suspended from above which poses many unique hazards only associated with suspended scaffolds. This training will cover safe working practices on a suspended scaffold such as inspection procedures, the use of proper fall protection, outrigger use, proper tying techniques, etc. Students will be issued a certificate of completion and card with photo after course completion.
32 Hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor:
32 Hour Suspended Scaffold Supervisor is for any worker whose job function is that of a licensed rigger or company designated rigging foreman. Each participant must pass a written and practice examination in order to receive a supervisor suspended scaffold user certificate. All participants will be issued a full color, photo certificate of completion upon conclusion of the training. This certificate is valid for 4 years only. A refresher training course must be completed every four years to update the certificate for another four-year period.
